HOW TO: Determine Your Patio Door handing
Use the information below to help identify the handing of your Andersen patio door.
GLIDING PATIO DOORS | |
All gliding patio doors are handed based on the location of the operating or sliding patio door panel when viewing from the outside of your home. If the operating patio door panel is on the left side, your patio door is a left-handed unit. | 200 SERIES PERMA-SHIELD GLIDING PATIO DOORS Note - Handed from the exterior (outside) of the home If your patio door is left-handed (meaning the operating patio door panel is on the left side when viewed from the exterior), the patio door panels are ordered as 'operating left' and 'stationary left'. Exterior handles, frame or jamb weatherstrip, and exterior keyed locks are handed the same as the patio door Interior handles are handed opposite of the patio door. Example: a left-hand patio door will use a right-hand interior handle Additional components such as rollers, insect screens and interlock weatherstrip (located between the stationary and operating panels) are not handed and will work for either a left-hand or right-hand patio door. |
