Window Safety
Andersen window opening control devices are designed to meet ASTM standards for window fall prevention devices with emergency escape and rescue release mechanisms. These devices are intended to prevent accidental falls by children aged five years and under through open windows while allowing for the intentional opening of a window as may be needed for escape, rescue or ventilation. Proper location and installation of these devices to allow a less than 4 inch opening is required to meet the ASTM standard. Each device comes with a hang tag that indicates the device was tested to the ASTM standard. This tag should remain on the device until final code inspection, if required.

Window Opening Control Devices for Casement Windows
The window opening control device offering for Andersen casement windows is:

- A simple, orange push-button release that clearly identifies the release mechanism of the device, and an innovative flip cap shields it from accidental release. Opening the flip cap and pushing the release button are the two steps required to release the sash.
- Releasable with the insect screen in place and automatically reengages when the window is closed. Therefore, the screen can stay in place and the sash can be released for ventilation without letting in insects.
- Made of corrosion-resistant* stainless steel, the device is neatly displayed on the sill stop of the casement window.
- Available for A-Series and 400 Series casement windows and 400 Series casement windows with Stormwatch protection in standard and custom sizes.
- Able to be installed on existing Andersen A-Series and 400 Series products manufactured since 1995. A reusable hardware installation kit is available when ordering.

Window Opening Control Devices for Double-Hung and Single Hung Windows
The window opening control device offering for Andersen double-hung and single-hung windows is:
- Two independent single action devices installed on the top sash near each side jamb.
- By pushing on the orange dot located on the bottom of each device, the path is clear to fully open the sash. The devices will automatically reset when the sash is closed.
- Available for Andersen A-Series, 400 Series and 200 Series double-hung windows and 100 Series single hung windows
- Available in white and stone colors.

Window Opening Control Devices for Gliding Windows
The window opening control device offering for Andersen gliding windows is:
- A dual action device installed on the sill of the window.
- By sliding over the bar identified with an orange dot, and pushing on the release button designated with an orange arrow, the sash is then free to be fully opened.
- Available for Andersen 400 Series, 200 Series and 100 Series gliding windows.
- Available in white and stone colors.
